SHANE PICKETT: Dusk Infusion and Kaanarn: There is truth in the landscape | 13 April – 30 June 2019
DUSK INFUSION is a selection of Pickett’s work produced during the last ten years of his painting career. Inspired by the environment where he grew up and drawing on his cultural background, Pickett used his artworks to make a genuine statement from within himself, statements which he felt that only he could make by ‘pushing the paint around the canvas’.
KAANARN: THERE IS TRUTH IN THE LANDSCAPE presents for the first time, the works intended by Pickett as his final painting exhibition. Pickett had planned finishing his career as a painter by holding an exhibition of small landscapes, reminiscent of the early works presented in his first exhibition. There were also small abstract interpretations of country a testament to illustrating the journey he had travelled as a painter.
