Luciana Park (Lot 681) has been earmarked as the preferred site for Bunbury’s Youth Precinct after Council approved a recommendation from its Youth Advisory Council (YAC) on Tuesday evening.
Following extensive community consultation and site analysis a portion of the area – located along the Leschenault Inlet across from the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre – was endorsed as the most appropriate area.
The City of Bunbury is now calling upon the community for feedback on the chosen site before it can move ahead with the next step which will be deciding what should be included at the precinct. The City will also be asking its residents for input on this element of the project.
Bunbury Youth Mayor Sean Smith thanked the community for its help in selecting the site.
“This is a significant project for Bunbury and our young people,” Mr Smith said.
“YAC has put in a lot of time and effort in ensuring the views of the community were being captured and we want to make sure we get the site selection right.
“I encourage everyone to get behind this project and have their say.”
The community is invited to complete an online survey via the City’s community engagement portal Social Pinpoint before 5pm Friday 22 March.
Once feedback has been received a report will be presented to Council.
